Kyle was brought up in the extremely obliging suburbs of Southern Ontario. Raised on a diet of picture books and Saturday morning cartoons, he has created his own tiny worlds and stories for the past decade as an illustrator. His clients include Scholastic Inc., Cricket Magazine, McDonald’s and Anheuser-Busch. Kyle was also part of the CORE Digital Pictures’ 2D design team behind the popular children’s educational cartoon Super Why. Kyle loves a colorful critter.

Kyle’s illustration work can be found here.

Sorry You’re Happy collections keep things playful and whimsical, creating characters and patterns that make us happy. We apologize if they make you happy too.

Feature Artists

Katy Dockrill

Born and raised in Toronto’s West End, Katy Dockrill’s youth was spent playing, swimming, reading, baking, bike riding and drawing, not all that different from her life now. Passionate about line work, she loves the way brush and ink brings a drawing to life with texture, dimension and detail. When approaching a new project, she begins with random sketches, interweaving concept and design. Katy has worked in editorial, design, book publishing and advertising, with some really fabulous clients, including: American Baby, Chronicle, Clairol, Coup de Pouce, The Globe and Mail, Homemakers, LCBO, Nick Jr., New York Times, Parents Magazine, Scholastic Inc., Second Cup, Today’s Parent and Wall Street Journal. Katy makes her home in Toronto’s East End with her husband, daughter and two adorably infuriating cats.

Aaron Leighton

Born on the Canadian prairies, Aaron Leighton spent his childhood inventing creatures that didn’t exist. More recently, his artwork has been used in books, magazines, advertising, animation and apps for clients such as Chronicle Books, The New York Times, Fast Company, The Globe and Mail, CBC Television, Target and Ford. He has also worked as the creative director and character designer of the Emmy Award–winning animated project, “The Zimmer Twins”, published a book, “Spirit City Toronto” (Koyama Press 2010) and contributes regularly as a writer for UPPERCASE magazine. Aaron currently lives in Toronto with his wife, and spends his free time reading about magic and other wonderful impossibilities.
